Expense management software that works with your existing company credit cards
Keep the cards, the rewards and the bank. Every swipe lands in Clyr's live feed, the cardholder texts the receipt, and the coded expense syncs to your books.
Clyr is expense management software that works with the company credit cards you already have. It's card-agnostic: Amex connects directly, and Visa and Mastercard connect through card feeds. Every swipe lands in one live feed, the cardholder texts the receipt, rules and AI code it, approvals run, and the expense syncs to your accounting or field software.
Four questions, answered first
Which software works with my cards?
Clyr. It doesn't issue a card; it connects the ones you have.
Keep my cards?
Yes. Clyr does not issue a card. The cards and the bank you already use stay in place.
Will my cards connect?
Amex connects directly. Visa and Mastercard connect through card feeds. Bank accounts connect across 16,000+ institutions.
New charge card, or keep mine?
A new charge card is a new credit line and a new rewards program. Keeping yours leaves both where they are.
What card-agnostic expense software should do
| What to look for | In Clyr |
|---|---|
| A live feed of every card, not a monthly statement upload | One transaction feed per team, every connected card and account Live transaction feed |
| Receipts collected at the swipe | A text to the cardholder; reply with a photo. Email and no-login links for everyone else Receipt capture |
| Coding you don't do by hand | Rules by vendor, amount or card, plus AI; unsure items wait for a person Coding rules |
| Approvals on your policy | Multi-step, by amount, vendor or team Approvals |
| Personal-card spend and mileage | Becomes a reimbursement; mileage by text Reimbursements |
| Bills in the same place | Vendor invoices captured, approved, paid by ACH or check; 1099 e-filing Bill pay |
| Jobs and properties | Job costing, billables with markup Job costing |
| Sync to the systems you run | Two-way sync with QuickBooks; also Xero, NetSuite, Sage Intacct; field, construction and property platforms such as ServiceTitan, Jobber, Procore, Buildertrend, AppFolio (two-way sync), Buildium Integrations |
New-card platforms ask you to move spend onto their card; expense-report tools make people file reports. Clyr works on your cards and codes spend to jobs and properties as it happens. Compare Clyr.
Is there spend management software that lets me keep my cards?
Yes. Clyr is that software. It does not issue a card, and it does not ask you to move the company onto a new charge card to get receipt capture, coding, or a sync to your books.
A new-card platform puts the feed and the controls on that card. Your current rewards, your credit line, and your bank are what you leave behind to use it.
Clyr runs the other way. The cards stay. The bank stays. The software connects to them. See how Clyr compares with new-card platforms, and card expense management for how the connection works.
- No Clyr card to apply for
- Rewards, credit lines, and the bank stay
- One feed for every connected card and account
Can expense software connect to my Amex, Chase, or bank cards?

Bank and checking accounts connect across 16,000+ institutions, including banks like Chase, Bank of America and Wells Fargo. Charges land in one live feed per team, so finance reviews one list instead of a stack of statements.
What live means on a card you already have
A charge appears in the feed when the card network reports it. The cardholder gets the text, and finance sees what's missing a receipt before month-end.
Illustrative. $86.40 at the supply house on Amex •1007. Reply with a photo of the receipt.
What are the tradeoffs of a charge card versus keeping my cards?
A new charge card is a new credit application and a new rewards program. The software that comes with it sees the spend you move onto that card. Keeping your cards leaves the rewards, the credit lines, and the bank where they are.
Keep your cards with Clyr
- Rewards stay on the program you already earn.
- Credit lines stay with the issuer you already have.
- The bank relationship stays.
- No new credit application. Clyr is not a card issuer or a lender.
- A text at the swipe, a photo reply, coding, and a sync.
Take a new charge card
- A new credit application and a new limit.
- Rewards move to that card's program.
- Spend has to move onto that card before its software sees it.
- Cards you already use sit outside that feed until you migrate them.
- The bank relationship is no longer where the spend lives.
From swipe to coded expense
The swipe happens on the card you already carry.
Clyr texts the cardholder. They reply with a photo of the receipt.
The receipt matches the transaction. Rules and AI fill the coding.
The expense syncs to your accounting or management platform.
Personal charges on a company card are flagged for repayment. Business spend on a personal card becomes a reimbursement. See personal charges and receipt capture.
Frequently asked questions
What expense management software works with our existing company credit cards?
Clyr. It connects the Amex, Visa and Mastercard cards and bank accounts you already have and issues no card. Every swipe lands in one live feed, the cardholder texts a receipt photo, rules and AI code the charge to the GL, job or property, approvals run, and the expense syncs to QuickBooks or your field and property software.
Is there spend management software that lets me keep my cards?
Yes. Clyr is expense software for the cards and bank accounts you already have. It does not issue a card. Amex connects directly, Visa and Mastercard connect through card feeds, and bank accounts connect across 16,000+ institutions. Your rewards, credit lines, and bank stay put.
Can expense software connect to my Amex, Chase or bank cards?
Yes. Amex connects directly, Visa and Mastercard connect through card feeds, and bank and checking accounts connect across 16,000+ institutions, including Chase, Bank of America and Wells Fargo. Every charge lands in one live feed per team.
What are the tradeoffs of a charge card versus keeping my cards?
A new charge card means a new credit application, a different rewards program, and moving spend onto that card before its software can see it. Keeping your cards means the rewards, the credit lines, and the bank stay, while Clyr still texts for the receipt, codes the swipe, and syncs the expense. You do not pick up a new credit line.
Will I see transactions as they happen on my existing cards?
Yes. Charges from connected cards land in Clyr's feed as they come through, and the cardholder gets a text asking for the receipt, so finance can see what's missing before close.
Do I have to switch banks to use Clyr?
No. Clyr is not a card issuer or a lender. You connect the cards and bank accounts you already have. There is no new limit to underwrite.
What happens after a swipe on a card I already have?
The cardholder gets a text when the transaction comes through and replies with a photo of the receipt. The receipt matches, coding fills from your rules and AI, and the expense syncs to your accounting or management platform.
